Earthquake off the Pacific Coast of Tohoku and Its Affects on Makita

On behalf of Makita Corporation, we express our sincere condolence to all people affected by the Earthquake off the Pacific Coast of Tohoku .
As of March 17, the affects of the earthquake on Makita Corporation are as stated below.

  1. Employees

We confirmed all of our employees safe.

  2. Production

Our group has two manufacturing plants in Japan, Okazaki City in Aichi Prefecture and Numazu City in Shizuoka Prefecture. No manufacturing facilities in these plants were damaged by the earthquake.
However, as a result of delayed deliveries of some parts and materials, a part of our products are also behind the schedule. We are very sorry for your inconvenience, but we hope you understand our situation.

  3. Sales branches

Although some buildings of our branches were damaged, fortunately none of those damages are very serious. The continued distribution system confusions in this country, however, affected a part of our operations mainly in the disaster-stricken areas.
