Makita Opens Parts Center in Cambodia to Provide Repair Service
Makita has opened a parts center on the outskirts of the Cambodian capital Phnom Penh, and operations started on February 26, 2014. The center provides repair services as a branch of Makita Singapore Pte. Ltd.
Makita is currently developing sales operations through an agent. In order to support this, Makita will open a directly-operated repair center to enhance after-sales services.
Cambodia is located on the Indochina Peninsula and is a member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. Though it ranks ninth in terms of nominal GDP among the 10 ASEAN member nations, it is expected to grow even further in the years ahead, maintaining real GDP growth exceeding 6 percent since 2010.
Makita will further bolster its sales capabilities in emerging countries, where medium- to long-term demand growth is projected, to expand the area where Makita is servicing.
