Makita Honored as “2016 Top 100 Global Innovator” Named for two consecutive years as one of the top 100 companies leading global business

Clarivate Analytics, formerly the Intellectual Property & Science business of Thomson Reuters, has included Makita Corporation in its list of “2016 Top 100 Global Innovators” for two years consecutively.

Using Clarivate Analytics’ patent database, the 2016 Top 100 Global Innovators report analyzes trends in intellectual property and patents based on four evaluation axes—patent volume, patent-grant success rates, global reach and invention influence—and selects 100 companies and institutes that lead global business by protecting their original ideas for inventions with intellectual property rights to ensure their successful commercialization.

Makita will continue to actively promote its research and development activities, while positively engaging in the protection and use of intellectual property created from such activities in the global market.
